Grand National at the Apple Store

One of the things that makes the Apple store really work, beyond the aesthetic and organization, and even the niceties such as the Genius Bar and WiFi credit card swipe machines, is that it is becoming a cultural hub. I had a couple of hours to kill before meeting friends tonight, so I parked myself at the Soho store. I’m enjoying the band Grand National as a type this. Perhaps I’ll see this performance on the iTunes Store sometime soon.

Last night I saw John Gruber here giving a talk on the current state of Apple UI. Tomorrow night they have Magnet Theater doing improv. Software and hardware cannot build cultural credibility. Apple clearly gets this.
